Professor of Orthodontics at the University of Barcelona, he is also Head of the Masters in Orthodontics at the same university.

Founder and Head of Orthodontics at the Barcelona Children's Hospital, he is also director of the Orthodontic World Institute in Barcelona and the DR HEALTHCARE MFS training programmes.

Dr. Von Arx is the drive behind the MFS philosophy and has published many books, among them being the Atlas Clínico Mecánica Fija MFS [Clinical Atlas of MFS Fixed Mechanics]. Furthermore, he has given a considerable number of courses worldwide and has written more than one hundred articles and studies published in the most prestigious specialist magazines

In addition to having garnered various awards in recognition of his professional excellence, he is also a full member of the Spanish Association of Orthodontics; member of the French Bio-progressive Association and of the American Association of Orthodontists; and honorary member of the Colombian Association of Orthodontics, the Portuguese Association of Orthodontics, the Lima Athenaeum and the Brazilian Association of Orthodontics and Facial Orthopaedics.
